I have been drawn back into the land of text-RPG’s lately, so didn’t do much on the MMO front. Aside from grinding away at the Breach event on STO, there isn’t much going on either! But today Cryptic made the first real announcement about the upcoming Gamma Quadrant expansion, the aptly-named “Victory is Life”.
Sorry for the very sporadic posts, but things haven’t settled down for me at all. In addition to my unexpectedly poor post-op recovery, I am also dealing with mom’s failing health. As she has been admitted to palliative care, I am trying to see her as much as I can before she passes.
Anyway, today I want to quickly touch upon the recent release of Season 14: Emergence for Star Trek Online. Why am I still playing STO then? To distract myself. Actually I’ve been told that keeping busy and continuing doing the things we normally do help cope with stressful times. And yeah, this is about as stressful a time as I’ve ever been.
Just as we thought, there are some STO reveals coming out of the Star Trek Las Vegas convention. Not a whole lot of information just yet, but Season 14 is going to coincide with the Next Generation 30th Anniversary, so everyone has been expecting a big TNG-era focus. And what’s been shown so far kinda confirms it.
The latest Feature Episode Brushfire hit Star Trek Online last night. As part of Season 13.5, also added were the Endeavor system, the Ferengi Admiralty campaign and addition UI hotbars. Why on a Tuesday and not the usual Thursday patch day? You got me!
I played through the Episode with three different toons last night, twice with Fungi and once on my own, and here’s a quick review. Spoiler Alert! I will try not to discuss a lot of the details in the episode itself, but I may end up accidentally letting something slip. Let this be your warning!
Have you run the new PvEvP queues yet? Currently there are two of these “Wargame Scenarios”, one Ground queue called Binary Circuit, and a space one called Core Assault. Fungi-skully wrangled me into trying both this past weekend, and it’s been an interesting experience. I thought I’d post about the space queue, and offer a little bit of a guide to anyone who’s not yet experienced with it.
I have been slow with blog posts lately because I’m dealing with a serious family illness (mom). 😦 I’m still following news on STO mainly because it offers a distraction from the real life suck.
In any case, Season 13: Escalation was released a couple of days ago amidst a lot of skepticism.
