Cryptic published the stats of the upcoming Summer Event ship, the Vorgon Vtijara Dreadnaught cruiser. What can I say? It’s… different.
I don’t talk about another thing that I enjoy on my blog, but yes I am an avid football/soccer fan. And don’t ask me why, I have always rooted for the German team in World Cup tournaments.
As the reigning World Champion, Germany was one of the favorites to win the 2018 tournament. Yet they have really struggled in the first two games, losing to Mexico in their opening game and securing a miraculous win against Sweden in their second. This morning they were set against South Korea, arguably the weakest team in Group F… and all they needed was one goal to advance to the knockout round.
One lousy goal. Which apparently they couldn’t find.
Losing to South Korea is humiliating to Germany, but crashing and burning in the Group stage? It’s shocking. It’s depressing. It’s never happened before in World Cup history for Germany. How did it come to this? Even as a fan, I have to admit that in all three matches that Germany played, they were… uninspired. Their plays were meandering. No spark. No direction. It’s a lot of trying the same thing over and over again and hoping something changed. Compared to their performances in 2010 and 2014, it’s like this was a completely different team. Granted, they’ve lost a number of key players between 2014 and now: Klose, Schweinsteiger, Podolski, and Lahm, and the remaining veterans just aren’t up to snuff. The previously brilliant Muller has done about squat in this tournament, Ozil’s passes were abysmal throughout… ah well, I could go on, but what’s the point.
This is not a sports blog so I won’t say a whole lot more. Suffice to say I am extremely disappointed.
The masses have been chomping at the bits for Risa, and finally today Cryptic announced that the 2018 Summer Event starts next week!
Heidy breaks the Fourth Wall…. Just a little. Entirely not serious.
Over the weekend I have played through the new story missions that came out with Victory is Life, and yeah, it was all over rather quickly. Only six new missions for a big arc like this seem a bit skinny, but what we got was some of the best STO missions yet.
Oh right, SPOILERS AHEAD.
Whew! That was a lot of Ship Mastery grinding over the weekend!
See, Cryptic decided to nerf the amount of Ship Mastery XP awarded in Red Alerts, so there is a lot more grinding needed to get Ship Traits. On top of that, the new Jemmie Vanguard ships come with a new feature, namely a level VI Mastery that allows that Ship Trait to become Account-Wide. This is not a bad feature, except the part about level VI requiring roughly the same amount of XP from level I to level V! Which means the amount of grinding just DOUBLED.
So, yeah. After a weekend of grinding, I still only got 3 of the 4 Jemmie Vanguard ships done. But after flown all four ships for a bit, I want to write a quick impression on those ships.
Alright folks, Heidy is in a mood today. Move right on if you don’t want to read a rant post. You have been warned!
I saw the ad to this app game called “Girls’ Frontline” today, and I just feel obligated to say something about it.
